Well, after undergoing about 40 days of Lent, Christian celebrate a day when Jesus rose of death and save people from sins.

Easter (Old English: Ēostre; Greek: Πάσχα, Paskha; Aramaic and Hebrew: פֶּסחא Pasḥa,) is the central feast in the Christian liturgical year. According to the Canonical gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. His resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday). The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between AD 26 and 36, traditionally 33.
Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of the Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter is followed by fifty-day period called Eastertide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.
Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. It occurs during the Spring; (Or Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.) in March or April; the method for determining the date of Easter Sunday is complex, based on lunisolar calendar.
Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In many European languages, the words for "Easter" and "Passover" are etymologically related or homonymous.The term "Pascha", from the same root, is also used in English to refer to Easter.
Easter customs vary across the Christian world, but decorating Easter eggs is a common motif. In the Western world, customs such as egg hunting and Easter Bunny extend from the domain of church, and often have a secular character.
Rome Catholic's Easter:
In Western Christianity, Easter marks the end of Lent, a period of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter, which begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts forty days (not counting Sundays).
The week before Easter, known as Holy Week, is very special in the Christian tradition. The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday and the last three days before Easter are Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday (sometimes referred to as Silent Saturday). Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday respectively commemorate Jesus' entry in Jerusalem, the Last Supper and the Crucifixion. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday are sometimes referred to as the Easter Triduum (Latin for "Three Days"). In some countries, Easter lasts two days, with the second called "Easter Monday". The week beginning with Easter Sunday is called Easter Week or the Octave of Easter, and each day is prefaced with "Easter", e.g. Easter Monday, Easter Tuesday, etc. Easter Saturday is therefore the Saturday after Easter Sunday. The day before Easter is properly called Holy Saturday. Many churches begin celebrating Easter late in the evening of Holy Saturday at a service called the Easter Vigil.
Eastertide, or Paschaltide, the season of Easter, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts until the day of Pentecost, seven weeks later.
Well, it was all about Easter. Just like was mentioned above, Rome Catholic also has
Palms Sunday. It's a day for celebrating while Jesus came to Jerusalem. People at that time were greeting Him with Palms.
What about
Holy Thursday?
It's a day for celebrating and recall the last supper. Jesus hold the last supper with His 12 apostles. Here the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20) and Saint Paul's 1 Corinthians 11:23-25) :

And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.
It's a really special part and the most important one in Catholic Eucharist. It means to change the plain bread and wine to be Jesus' body and blood.
In the Good Friday, Christian are celebrating Jesus' pain and suffer. It was the day when Jesus died in a cross. He suffered and died for human's sakes, to throw our sins out and save us from sins.
Three days after Jesus' death, like he said before that he would rise in three days, Jesus rose in Sunday. He couldn't be found in the cemetery. He has rose and tell people that He is the Son of God.
All right, that's some explanations about Easter. As the Christian children, they are celebrating Easter with a lot of cute things, like a cute kitty, Easter-eggs, also rabbits.
