Well, Indonesia is affected by Korean Wave too much. Even these days, a lot of Indonesian artists also love Kpop and particularly the Korean Drama. A national broadcasting television also plays several titles of famous Korean Drama intensively. This phenomenon also followed by Indonesian formed boyband and girlband. The first Indonesian boyband who can attract a lot of Indonesian is SM*SH with their first song, I heart U. There were two sides which support them to become bigger, but the anti-fans also growing instead. Some people said that they are too Korean, I mean the song, the style, the video, etc. But some people also said that they are original, they didn't copy any other boyband's songs, they have their own style, still, for senior Kpop fans, their appearance is like a big punch since they still love Kpop artists so much and don't want to be compared.
But I think these days, SM*SH begin to be accepted even by Kpop fans. They've been working really hard so appreciate for them. more bout Sm*sh
Not only SM*SH, there are some boybands and girlbands come up on Indonesian Music Industry such as 7ICON, Cherrybelle, [F]ame, Dragonboyz, HITZ (which have an original korean member), etc. They all try to bring something different and make their own style so 'yorobun (Ayu Ting-Ting style)' they can be recognized as their own name (not copying). HITZ with their song, YES YES YES even put some korean lyric inside since they have a korean member, still theit music video remember me to U-Kiss... Cherrybelle with Dilema, they also can attract a lot of people, still they have song (theme of their short tv drama) which have a same tone with Girl's Generation's Kissing You (I don't know whether they have the license or not, don't be negative).
In the middle of Korean Wave, Japan begins to sweep Indonesia with their entertainment as well. The most famous Japanese group these days is AKB48, right? Their management, lead by Mr. Yasushi Akimoto, announced that they will form another group based on Jakarta so the name will be JKT48. The all over the concept are same between AKB48 and JKT48, but the base camp are different. Japan, who loves all about original things, seems doesn't want to lose in these competition in order to affect Indonesia with their style entertainment as well. Japan even has counted the percentage then found that in Indonesia, Korean effect and Japanese effect are about same even Japan is leading about 4%, so this is one of their reasons to form a girlgroup in Indonesia. They form an original group in same management with international group AKB48, in this case, JKT48 will have more chance to become international too and remember that they are original, not a plagiarism. The negative one is we've too much affected with those entertainment, either Korean or Japanese, we've forgotten about our own music style. How? How we can spread our culture as well as maintain their existence? It's all depend on us, the youth.
Well, these videos below are about JKT48, ah, they've did a CM as well using AKB48's song~ According to the official site, they will debut in the end of this year, Ganbatte~
